Saying Goodbye to 1345 Clay Street (But Not to You)

[caption id="attachment_2967" align="aligncenter" width="300"] © White Picket Fence Counseling Center[/caption] I often refer to the idea that when one door closes another will open, though we sometimes find ourselves standing in a dark hallway in between the two. Today, this relates to me and my colleagues at White Picket Fence Counseling Center, as I have sold the building where we started this mental health counseling and nutritional therapy private practice. This happened very quickly, giving us just two weeks to move out of the home of our business for 14 years. We’ve moved items into storage, we’ve cleaned, we’ve prepared, and now we wait in that uncomfortable hallway for the next door to open. Yet it’s not dark for us. It is light and bright and filled with hope and anticipation. Just as I felt with my whole heart that 1345 Clay Street was perfect, this move is just as important. It needs to be right. Our new home needs to be ideal for us to continue the heart-centered work we aspire to do. Six of us are waiting for one of two locations to work and I do hope we can stay together. For those who will find new opportunities elsewhere, I wish them every success. We understand this change may be challenging for you as current clients. Please be assured that most of us are continuing to see clients – in temporary locations, on video, or via telephone. Reach out to us. Thank you to present and past clients, friends and colleagues, for making this 94-year-old historic building a home.
