Personal Note from Sandee Nebel:

I grew up near Asbury Park, New Jersey, in a town called Oakhurst. I lived in only two different homes before I moved to Florida to attend college. My father was the builder of both of these houses. I lived in the first house until age five and then we moved into the one I really remember.

I loved my house. It had huge panels of stained glass windows in a beautiful array of colors: red, blue, amber and green. It also had a mixture of exterior textures—stucco and brick—that were carried into the two-story foyer. People would ask if our house was a church – I didn’t know then that I would later know it as a "sanctuary" to me.

The inside of the house was also full of color—this was the current trend and my family was in the interior design business. My own room was lavender and my spiritual haven. This was a time in my life when I felt very creative, artistic and introspective.

Throughout my life, I've recognized the importance of how the design of a space can impact mood, spirituality and well being. I still dreamed about my family home for years, until I moved into a dream home of my own 12 years ago here in Winter Park.
