Our mission is to help people overcome obesity, overeating and other eating disorders in order to maintain a healthy mind, body and lifestyle.

White Picket Fence Foundation provides:

  • Mental health and behavioral counseling to individuals who are obese, overweight or with eating disorders, and their families, regardless of financial barriers.
  • Quality training and resources to mental health professionals and graduate students in the mental health field.
  • Specialized collaboration with dieticians, medical professionals, hospitals and residential treatment centers.

Directors of the White Picket Fence Foundation


WET_8771 WEBSandee Nebel, MS, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor in the state of Florida, and the founder of the White Picket Fence Counseling Center, LLC, a private practice devoted to helping individuals and families overcome their obesity, eating disorders, food addiction, compulsive overeating and related issues. She is an adjunct psychology professor at Valencia College and a practicum instructor at Nova Southeastern University Masters in Mental Health Counseling program. She is also a frequent guest lecturer in local schools and at community organization events.

She is the immediate past-president of The Eating Disorder Network of Central Florida. She is a member of the American Counseling Association, National Eating Disorders Association, Academy for Eating Disorders, Central Florida Marriage and Family Therapists, Mental Health Counselors Association of Central Florida and International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. She is an advisor to an ANAD (National Association of Anorexia and Associated Disorders) support group in Daytona Beach, Florida. She received her Master’s of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. Sandee is a Registered Yoga Teacher (200) with the Yoga Alliance and a member of the IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists).

As the founder of the White Picket Fence Foundation, Sandee Nebel conceptualized the Foundation in response to the many requests from individuals, families and medical professionals for counseling to resolve the underlying psychological problems affecting eating behaviors that result in obesity and other life-threatening eating disorders.


celineDr. Celine Passeri
is a licensed psychologist in the state of Florida who graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a doctorate in clinical psychology. Originally from Saint Martin in the Caribbean, Dr. Passeri is bilingual in both English and French, and has a true interest and appreciation for cultural diversity. Throughout her career, she developed a special interest in working with individuals struggling with eating disorders, anxiety and depression. She has conducted psychological services in a variety of settings, including a children’s behavioral clinic, the Renfrew Center (a residential eating disorder facility), a community-based counseling center, and two separate private practices.

As a board member of the Eating Disorder Network of Central Florida (EDNCF), Dr. Passeri is actively involved in the Orlando area and is dedicated to improving eating disorder awareness in the community. Currently working with Florida Hospital and their Pediatric Obesity Program, Dr. Passeri addresses issues related to food, body image and self-esteem, and places great emphasis on psychological and physical well-being.


Melissa Ford is a graduate student in the Master’s of Arts program in mental health counseling at the University of Central Florida. She is an advocate for the National Eating Disorder Association and a variety of women’s rights organizations. Her interest in eating disorder treatment and recovery, as well as her involvement in advocacy, is rooted in her own struggles with anorexia nervosa. After many years of successful recovery, she is looking to give back and use her experience to specialize in eating disorders as a therapist clinician in the future.


Joy Zerivitz is a wife and mother of two teenage sons who is committed to her family’s health and wellness. Her interest in the Foundation lies in her background as a past Director of Marketing for a psychiatric hospital. She is a graduate of University of Florida with a degree in advertising and a minor in psychology. She was born and raised in central Florida. Her skills and knowledge in the mental health field are an asset to the organization.


michaelMichael Kay
, now retired, most recently was employed in the pharmaceutical field educating physicians and their medical teams about weight management medications. His work was instrumental in helping patients make personal lifestyle changes towards health and fitness. His interests in hiking and other outdoor activities mirror these positive changes and he is seeking to become an advocate for others making similar changes toward attaining and maintaining long-term healthy lives. Michael Kay is a graduate of Washington State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Biology.
